October

Good news and bad news. Let's see if they even out.

BAD NEWS: I still have no job (and not for lack of trying for four months).

GOOD NEWS: THE PARANORMALISTS is on imdb and in some festivals.

BAD NEWS: I have serious writer's block and I'm going crazy.

GOOD NEWS: ELAN VITAL is done, GOOD, and on it's way to festivals.

BAD NEWS: I am SERIOUSLY out of shape. Like, seriously.

GOOD NEWS: I'm teaching TWO Shakespeare classes a week now.

BAD NEWS: My Unemployment checks haven't arrived for over a month and I can't get them on the phone.

GOOD NEWS: I'm working on NEVERMORE as a screenplay an hopefully getting it out before the end of the year.

BAD NEWS: I'm not spending Christmas in Baltimore with my extended family.

GOOD NEWS: I AM spending it in Pittsburgh with my immediate fam and most likely everybody else will drive down at some point. So THAT'S alright.

BAD NEWS: Very few auditions and no temp work.

GOOD NEWS: Taking a voiceover class where we're doing networking and trying to help one another get work.

Well, it looks pretty even. Of course, the "no money" thing is looming over the whole situation like the Big Black Cloud all heavy with the rain that that shadowed the ground on Kapiti Plain. (Anybody remember that book?)

Seriously considering writing a spec script for West Wing simply because I want to. I just need a plot. Hmmmmm....

Summer's almost over!

It's been a while, but a lot has gone on! Just finished a run of Rogue Artist Ensemble's MR. PUNCH, screened my short film THE PARANORMALISTS, finished the first draft of BONEDUST, shot four more MATT'S PENTAMETER episodes, recorded two new spots for Maryland Public Transit Authority and auditioned for LOVES LABOUR'S LOST at Long Beach Shakes - sadly, I can't take the gig, as it would cut into any work I would like to get in the near future.

And INDIANA JONES was one of the biggest disappointments in my life.

Updates

So I just got back from shooting a commercial for HealthPlus of Michigan last weekend (which was a TON of fun), finished the run of MERRY WIVES the weekend before that, still rehearsing MACBETH with no definite start point for production (read: no money), prepping to write BONEDUST as a screenplay in Script Frenzy (only five years in the making), did a great Director's seminar for Mark Travis in San Francisco over President's Day weekend, and trying to find the next thing to do with Mutiny. And I lost 12 pounds. Sadly, I took two weeks off from the gym (not neessarily of my own volition) so I won't be winning the Body-For-Life challenge, but hell, I'm looking better.... still have to lose another ten pounds....

Ideas aplenty for more Shakespeare blogs, but need to clean out my computer and get the software updated. Also, need a new computer. Maybe a Bday/Xmas gift combo.........

AND! Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull comes out May 22.

Just sayin'.

Merry Wives!

So, on January 2, I got an email saying that a production of MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR needed a replacement for the role of Pistol. I drove to Topanga Canyon that night and auditioned and got the part on the spot! I've been rehearsing for two weeks and we go up this Friday!

I'm excited! It's a great play, everybody in the cast is not only talented, but very cool, and it's nice to start off the year with a show!

Speaking of which, I'm slowly gaining some solid support for my Macbeth Project at Theatre West. Keeps your fingers crossed and I may be able to direct it by end of year!

AND I just got word that my check from MPTA is FINALLY at my agency (it was supposed to be there in August)!! Just in time for the IRS to figure out that I owe them something, I'm sure.
